Bourns Introduces Riedon™ Model BR/BRT, BRS, and UWP Series Braking Resistors with Power Ratings up to 500 Watts and Extended Temperature Range up to +275 °C
November 21, 2024- Bourns, a world-renowned leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, has launched three new Riedon™ high-pulse brake resistor products: BR/BRT, BRS and UWP series. These three brake resistors are designed for high-energy pulse applications, with excellent power ratings up to 500 watts and support an extended temperature range of up to +275 °C. They are ideal energy dissipation solutions in motor braking circuits and capacitor charging/discharging circuits.
Bourns BR/BRT and BRS series are aluminum metal case wirewound resistors, while the UWP series are ceramic wirewound resistors. These resistors are designed as high reliability and durable solutions to dissipate large energy pulses and meet critical current regulation needs in AC-DC and DC-DC power converters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), capacitor charge/discharge circuits, industrial power supplies, inverters, and motor drives.
Bourns' new Riedon™ BR/BRT, BRS and UWP series of high-pulse brake resistors are now available and are RoHS* compliant.
