Amazing invention: Just a spoonful of water can provide 10 hours of battery life for your phone
Convenient to use: Any device that uses a USB interface is compatible with this charger
Convenient for outdoor use: A user is injecting water into the device to generate electricity in the snow
Simple and fast: just close the lid and it starts generating electricity
The device uses a chemical reaction between sodium silicide powder and water to generate energy.
Beijing time, January 17, according to foreign media reports, a Swedish company has recently invented a new charger that can charge your mobile phones, cameras, GPS navigation devices and other electronic products, and it only needs water. This new product called "PowerTrekk" is designed for those who are "far away from the grid facilities". They may often be deep in remote areas and cannot access traditional power supply facilities. This new charger only needs a spoonful of water, and it can generate enough power to maintain the use of mobile phones for 10 hours.
Its working principle is based on a chemical reaction. Water reacts with the chemical substance sodium silicide built into the "PowerTrekk" to produce hydrogen. Sodium silicide is a new chemical powder that is synthesized by "SiGNa Chemical", a green energy company based in New York, USA. The PowerTrekk launched this time is the first commercial product developed based on this chemical substance.
"This battery generates power instantly, it's not affected by the weather, you don't have to consider the position of the sun like you do with solar cells," he said. "The advantage over traditional batteries is that it provides a reliable source of charge without the degradation that traditional batteries experience."
The process of using it is also very convenient. The sodium silicide is contained in a miniature round container called "PowerPukk", which is shaped a bit like a small ice ball. This small container occupies half of the volume of the entire device shell, and the other half is a water tank, which you can fill with water. When the water is filled, you just need to cover the lid, and the chemical reaction will automatically start, and you can charge! This chemical reaction process is safe and environmentally friendly, and the only byproduct produced is water vapor.
This new device can be used as a portable charger, but it can also be used directly as a power source and can be used by plugging it into a flashlight or desk lamp.
