The inspection of the battery mainly involves observing the appearance and measuring the no-load voltage and load voltage.
(1) Check the appearance of the battery. For newly purchased batteries, check whether there are intact labels, such as model, nominal voltage, production date, etc. In addition, check whether there are any damage, leakage, deformation, etc.
(2) Check the battery voltage with the DC range of the multimeter, select a range slightly larger than the nominal voltage, connect the red test lead to the positive pole of the battery, and the black test lead to the negative pole of the battery. The voltage measured at this time is the no-load voltage, and the voltage value should not be lower than the nominal voltage (this is the case for new batteries). Connect the load resistor (the resistance value is specified by the manufacturer) between the positive and negative poles of the battery, and then measure the battery voltage using the above method. The voltage value measured at this time is the load voltage (working voltage), which should be close to the nominal voltage (new battery), indicating that the battery is good. If the measured voltage is much lower than the nominal voltage, it means that the battery can no longer be used.
