1. No display.

3. Pressing a button or turning a knob does not work, the adjustment is inconsistent, or the displayed numbers jump back.

5. After startup, the self-test is normal, but channel 1 or channel 2 cannot add signals.

Cause of the problem and repair method: Most of the time, the input BNC connector is disconnected from the mainboard and can be re-soldered.


6. The self-test after startup is abnormal, indicating that the CH1 or CH2 acquisition board is faulty or the main board is faulty, etc.

Causes of failure and Tektronix oscilloscope repair methods: After the Tektronix digital oscilloscope is turned on, it automatically runs the self-test program. If it shows a failure, there is usually a problem with this part, mainly on the main board. Sometimes a power failure can also cause the self-test to fail. The most common failure on the main board is the CH1 or CH2 acquisition detection failure, because in normal use, the input signal is input into the digital oscilloscope through the vertical channel. Once it exceeds the allowable input voltage of the digital oscilloscope, it will burn out the analog input part of the main board and the acquisition circuit. The input amplifier and data acquisition circuit are both integrated circuits. Unless they are severely burned, the chip is generally rarely broken. Mainly check the peripheral circuit components.
