Are lead-free HASL and lead-free solder the same thing? Are lead-free or lead-free surface treatment the same thing as lead-free or lead-free solder paste used in soldering?

HASL refers to the process, which uses hot air to process the solder part on the PCB. What you are referring to should be called LF-HASL, which is lead-free. If the solder you mentioned refers to the material, it is the same thing. If it refers to manual soldering, it is not the same thing.

I mean, when doing surface treatment, there are lead-free and lead-containing ones. When doing soldering in the SMT process, there are also lead-free and lead-containing solder pastes. Both parts have tin, so can I mix them? For example, use lead-free for spraying tin and lead for soldering.

Of course you can use it, but it's like adding tap water to mineral water. You can't claim it's lead-free, otherwise when others check it, they will find that your product contains lead.

If the product has lead-free requirements, you must ensure that all materials and processes are lead-free, and even try to avoid equipment contamination. If there is no lead-free requirement, you can do whatever you want.
