How to use the phase sequence meter
1. Wiring
Connect the three test lead wires A (red, R), B (blue, S), and C (black, T) of the phase sequence meter to the three wires A (R), B (S), and C (T) of the measured source respectively.
2. Measurement
Press the measuring button on the upper left corner of the meter, the light will come on and the measurement will start. Release the measuring button and the measurement will stop.
3. Phase loss indication
The three red LEDs A, B and C on the panel indicate the corresponding three-phase power supply. When the measured power source is missing a phase, the corresponding LED will not light up.
4. Phase sequence indication
When the three-phase sequence of the measured source is correct, the green light corresponding to the positive phase sequence is on. When the three-phase sequence of the measured source is wrong, the red light corresponding to the reverse phase sequence is on and the buzzer sounds an alarm.
Precautions for using phase sequence meter
1. When using the phase sequence meter, no other power supply or battery is required to power it. Instead, it can be powered directly by the power supply being tested.
2. Most phase sequence meters have the function of indicating phase loss. Generally, there are three light-emitting diodes A, B, and C on the panel of the phase sequence meter, which correspond to the three-phase power supply. If the measured power supply is missing a phase during measurement, the corresponding diode will not light up.
3. The insulated crocodile clip of the phase sequence meter can be used to clamp and detect insulated wires with a diameter between 2.4-30mm.
4. When using a phase sequence meter, if one of the three-phase input lines is connected to power, the meter will be energized, so we must cut off the power supply before opening the casing.
