Just like programming, some English abbreviations come into view. I hate these abbreviations. Some people even enjoy them. I was reading an article and suddenly encountered an abbreviation. Sometimes I couldn't guess it and it was very annoying.

The following comes from the Internet:

The full name of PFC is "Power Factor Correction " , which means "power factor correction". Power factor refers to the relationship between effective power and total power consumption (apparent power), that is, the ratio of effective power to total power consumption (apparent power). Basically, power factor can measure the degree to which electricity is effectively used. The larger the power factor value, the higher the power utilization rate. Power factor is a parameter used to measure the power efficiency of electrical equipment. A low power factor means low power efficiency. The technology to improve the power factor of electrical equipment is called power factor correction.

So what is the difference between it and a switching power supply? ? ? ?

In the PFC switching power supply, the switching regulated power supply is a very important component. The function of the switching regulated power supply in the PFC is not much different from that of the ordinary switching regulated power supply, but there is a difference in power supply. The ordinary switching regulated power supply requires 220V rectifier power supply, while the PFC regulated switching power supply is powered by B+PFC.

This means that PFC can completely replace the switching power supply.

Infineon's solution can save a power supply.

Below is the schematic diagram. I have marked the components that are not complete.

The principle is to control the IGBT to adjust the power factor through the control board, and then generate the next level of voltage, and the next level of voltage generates the corresponding voltage through the power block to generate the voltage required by the IGBT of the motor. There is IRS2890DS protection in between.

And all this is controlled on the control panel. Alas, I just don’t have a control panel!!!

It can be seen that PFC can completely replace the switching power supply, which means that the cost of a switching power supply can be saved, but I think this is only based on experiments.
