Rohde & Schwarz's broadcast test system BTC successfully integrates D-Book test suite

In cooperation with Rohde & Schwarz, the Digital Television Group Broadcast Conformance Test Laboratory (DTG Testing) has successfully tested the R&S BTC and R&S AVBrun D-Book test suites. The industry now has an extremely compact test solution certified by DTG Testing. The D-Book describes the interoperability requirements for UK digital terrestrial broadcast receivers, and its chapters contain detailed test scenarios for testing the functionality, behavior and performance of these receivers. Receivers that pass these tests provide interference-free TV reception. The importance of the D-Book is that many countries have adopted its test requirements with little or no changes.

Test houses and terrestrial broadcast receiver manufacturers can now use the R&S BTC from Rohde & Schwarz for DTG D-Book pre-certification testing.

The R&S BTC automated solution is a single-device solution for pre-compliance testing of D-Book chapters 9 and 10. Conventional time-consuming and expensive DTG D-Book test programs consisting of many devices are no longer necessary. This test program can fully verify the design and functionality of broadcast receivers before the actual conformance testing, and the depth of the testing is equivalent to the conformance testing performed at DTG Testing. A test house approved by DTG Testing verifies the conformance of the receiver and issues a certification to the manufacturer. R&S BTC and the R&S AVBrun D-Book test suite enable manufacturers to minimize test time and costs for conformance testing.

R&S BTC is the first single-device solution for real-time audio and video analysis of the device under test. The R&S AVBrun D-Book test suite is used to automate these tests.
