The world's first mobile 5G network is here: the network speed is up to 125MB/s and the monthly fee is about 350 yuan

According to foreign media reports, AT&T, the largest operator in the United States, is preparing for the launch of the world's first mobile 5G network at the end of the year. According to the latest progress given by AT&T, it will start intensive testing under the 39GHz spectrum to prepare for covering more distant areas in the future (to obtain more 5G NR high-speed and low-latency data), and will also add fixed 3GPP compatible units in Atlanta and Hawaii to ensure the long-term, stability and continuity of the test.

AT&T announced that it will first commercialize 5G networks in 12 cities in the United States by the end of 2018 (before December 31), and this range will be expanded to 19 cities in 2019. In 2020, it will ensure that at least 200 million users in the United States will experience 5G networks.

According to the explanation given by operator AT&T, the 5G mobile network they are planning to build can achieve a maximum speed of 125MB/s and the delay can be controlled within 1 millisecond.

The charges for 5G mobile networks may be the issue that users are most concerned about, but the high initial costs for commercial use are inevitable. In response, AT&T said it will provide users with relatively affordable 5G charges.

It is reported that the 5G mobile network services launched by AT&T at the end of this year will be launched in the form of contract phones. As for the specific charges, the monthly fee for members will be higher than US$50, which is equivalent to about RMB 350, but the outside world generally believes that the final price will be higher than RMB 350, because the cost of building 5G networks for US operators is very high, especially excluding terminal providers such as Huawei.

Compared with the 5G mobile network, the world's first 5G broadband launched by Verizon in October this year was initially concentrated in parts of Los Angeles, Houston, Annapolis, Indonesia, and Sacramento, with a monthly fee of US$70, or about RMB 480.
