On March 14, Foxconn notified all factories in Shenzhen to suspend operations to cooperate with local epidemic prevention work.

According to the notice, Hon Hai (Foxconn's parent company) in Shenzhen, China (Longhua, Guanlan, etc.) will suspend operations from today in cooperation with the local government's COVID-19 epidemic prevention work, and the actual resumption time will be notified by the local government. As the company has other backup factories, it has made necessary production adjustments to reduce the impact on the company's operations.

The notice also stated that the company’s park will simultaneously launch epidemic prevention measures such as nucleic acid testing for all employees to ensure the life safety and physical health of employees in the park.

Foxconn's Longhua and Guanlan plants both have IDPBG production lines. IDPBG stands for "Digital Product Business Group" and mainly produces mobile communication terminal equipment. Currently, it is mainly responsible for OEM of Apple iPhone. The above-mentioned plants are also responsible for the production and assembly of accessories for iPad, Apple computers and other products. In addition to Apple products, the above-mentioned plants also produce other consumer electronics brand products.

According to Nandu, Foxconn said that since the company has other backup factories, it has made necessary production adjustments to reduce the impact on the company's operations.

Currently, Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant is responsible for the production of more than 90% of the world's iPhones. Foxconn also stated that the suspension of production at the Shenzhen plant will not affect the normal operation of the iPhone supply chain.
