What is space-time intelligence?
In the view of Liu Jingnan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the intelligence that people use to identify their location, direction and time when walking to find an environment suitable for survival and development is called spatiotemporal intelligence, in which people can perceive, recognize or infer the relationship between the material, energy and information in the target and its time and space position and their own survival. Standing on the land to explore the pain points of transformation
At present, the digital transformation of various industries has entered a critical stage. How Beidou can really play a role has put forward higher requirements for localization capabilities. "On the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen the supporting capabilities of digitalization and help users quickly access Beidou's high-precision capabilities by providing standardized products and solutions with lower thresholds. On the other hand, it is necessary to go deep into various scenarios and explore the real pain points of the industry in digital transformation to provide customized capabilities based on Beidou." Chen Jinpei said.
More than a year ago, Qianxun Location began an experiment in Suichang, Zhejiang, to enable the sustainable development of green waters and green mountains through spatiotemporal intelligence technology. When they arrived in the county, they found that things were not as simple as they imagined. In order to find a drone hangar that can cover the inspection range of 1,700 hectares of Xianxia Lake, the technicians of Qianxun Location hiked up the mountain, pulled electricity from the villagers, and spent a month to find a location with a wide view. Because there are few professional pilots in the local area, they designed an automated solution for autonomous takeoff and landing inspections of drones, and spent three months developing and verifying AI algorithms to quickly detect surface garbage, eutrophication of water bodies, etc. "China's basic governance units are mainly county-level cities, and their desire for technology is sometimes stronger than that of big cities. We hope to use technology to enable them to have information-based governance means." Now, the overall water area inspection coverage rate of Xianxia Lake in Suichang has reached 95%, the labor input cost has dropped by 80%, and the inspection efficiency has increased by 400%.
In addition to the need for a localized service team, localization capabilities also place higher demands on agile responses to customer needs. In the power sector, although Qixun Location already has various mature technical solutions for intelligent inspections, as digital exploration deepens, customer needs are gradually diversified. Not long ago, a power grid company hoped to restore the coordinates of transmission lines through historical flight data and build digital assets, but no domestic company could undertake it. "Although we have never done it, because we have a wealth of Beidou ground-based augmentation station network observation data and advanced algorithm technology, we have the ability to provide customized digital solutions based on new customer needs." In the end, Qixun Location helped customers ensure data security to complete tasks, and also saved customers tens of millions of costs for re-surveying and production.
"Beidou is a technology, and digitalization is a means. Using Beidou and digitalization to solve the real pain points in the industry is the real test of the capabilities of a digital service company," said Chen Jinpei.

The terminal and the cloud have a "dialogue" foundation
Traditional satellite navigation signals do not have the ability to interact with the Internet cloud. However, in the process of digitalization, cloud collaboration is the basis for various smart terminals to communicate with each other in the same time and space.
This year, the global ionosphere has become more active, which has had a huge impact on high-precision surveying and mapping operations such as engineering construction, road administration and bridges, mining, forestry, and topographic surveys. Thanks to the cloud-integrated basic technology architecture, Qianxun Positioning is the first in the industry to launch a Beidou high-precision positioning terminal with ionosphere suppression function.
"To give an example, these terminals could only receive Beidou signals in one direction, similar to the feature phones of the past. Now they have become smart phones that can interact with the cloud at any time and obtain the latest space-time capabilities through system upgrades," said Chen Jinpei.
At present, Qixun Location has independently developed the Open Spatial Service (OSS) protocol in the industry, which provides a basis for various terminals to "talk" with the cloud, and thus obtain richer spatiotemporal data services, device management services, intelligent analysis services, etc., so that the computing power, algorithms and data of the cloud and terminals can be fully coordinated.
In the aforementioned ionospheric suppression case, with cloud-cloud integration, the rich historical spatiotemporal big data accumulated by Qixun Location in the cloud came into play. The terminal was equivalent to obtaining the powerful computing power of the cloud. Machine learning analyzed these ionospheric data covering different geographical environments and atmospheric environments, formed a multi-scenario algorithm model, and perceived the ionospheric state in real time, thereby increasing the device's fixation rate to more than 95%.
