Getting Started Guide: Alveo Data Center Accelerator Cards (UG1301)
Xilinx
A global leader in adaptive and intelligent computing
This document provides the software and hardware installation procedures for the Alveo U200 and U250 Data Center accelerator cards.
The Alveo U200 and U250 cards are PCI Express Gen3 x16 compliant and based on the Xilinx UltraScale+ architecture. You can use these cards to accelerate compute-intensive applications such as database acceleration, machine learning, data analytics, and video processing.
Software installation process:
-
For deployment: The deployment software allows you to pre-compile your application on your machine and consists of Xilinx XRT and the deployment shell.
-
For development: This development software helps you compile and debug accelerated applications. It consists of the development shell and the SDAccel development environment.
By using different combinations of hardware and software installations, three different system configurations are available for running, developing, and debugging applications on your Alveo accelerator card.
The Alveo U200 and U250 Data Center accelerator cards have been validated by Xilinx for interoperability with the specific servers listed below. Other servers and PCs may be compatible but have not been validated for compatibility in detail. These systems must be configured with the following minimum requirements:
Components | Require |
Motherboard | Compliant with PCI Express 3.0, providing one double-width x16 slot |
System Power | 225W |
operating system |
Linux, 64-bit
- Ubuntu 16.04.4 - CentOS 7.4/7.5 - RHEL 7.4/7.5 |
System Memory | For deployment installations, Xilinx requires 64 GB (80 GB recommended). |
Internet connection | Driver, Utilities, and Demo Installation Requirements |
hard disk space | 100GB |
License |
- Not required for application deployment.
- For development environments, see the SDAccel Environment Release Notes, Installation, and Licensing Guide (UG1238) |
