On November 16, the four-day "2018 Munich International Electronic Components Fair (electronica 2018)" officially came to an end, and the next session will be held from November 10 to 13, 2020.

After four days of full schedule, the biggest feeling I got from this exhibition was professionalism. In addition to bringing together representative companies from the global electronics industry chain, the products and solutions on display also represent the future development direction of the electronics industry. At the same time, the audience attending the exhibition was also very professional. Among the participating companies, European companies accounted for the majority, which also reflected their traditional advantages in the electronics industry, especially in upstream components.

Of course, in addition to the excitement of the exhibition, there is also a major feature of Germany, that is, the world-renowned beer!

Another major feature is industry. As the birthplace of "Industry 4.0", Germany has a strong industrial foundation, which can be clearly seen in this exhibition. Companies including TI, Maxim, STMicroelectronics, ADI, ON Semiconductor, ams, NXP, AVNET and others have displayed their latest industrial application products and solutions.

In Industry 4.0, in addition to the improvement of automation level, power control, motion control, power management, etc. all require the support of the electronics industry, and therefore have become a major support for the development of the electronics industry.

Judging from the products on display, in addition to the requirements for stability, industrial applications also put forward more requirements in terms of volume and power consumption. With the continuous improvement of the level of intelligence, precise control and management are also indispensable. At present, foreign semiconductor giants still dominate in this regard.

In addition, another distinctive feature of this exhibition is cars, so much so that some people mistakenly think they are at a car show, which also reflects that cars will become the next growth point of the electronics industry.

In addition to traditional applications such as engine control, chassis control, and body control, we also found at this exhibition that more and more automotive components are becoming electronic, such as entertainment systems, rearview mirrors, lights, steering, throttle, voice control, etc. It can also be said that cars are becoming more and more like electronic products. On the other hand, more and more sensors are beginning to enter the automotive field, and "black technologies" such as adaptive cruise control, automatic parking, and automatic driving are also beginning to appear.

Overall, the automotive industry is beginning to develop towards informatization, electrification and intelligence, all of which rely on the progress of the electronics industry, and major companies are also betting on this trend.
