【Solution Online】Extremely simplified! Hot promotion of decentralized door electronic system solution!
On September 4, 2014 , WPG Holdings, a leading electronic component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Pinjia launched the NCV7707 power stage driver chip developed by ON Semiconductor specifically for decentralized door control modules. NCV7707 is dedicated to controlling the front door load, including rearview mirror position, heating and folding. In addition, there are two half-bridges for controlling the lock motor and four high-side outputs for driving light bulbs.
Door electronic systems have been widely used in modern cars. Most cars have electric windows and central door locks. Some mid-to-high-end models also have anti-pinch protection and child safety locks, rearview mirror adjustment, folding and defrosting. Some lighting control applications have also been added to the door electronic system, such as turn signals, LED interior lights, etc.
The commonly used door electronic system is shown in the figure below. It is a centralized design. The central BCM module directly controls the door locks, window motors, control panels, rearview mirrors, lights and other components, which requires the use of a large number of wiring harnesses, increasing costs and causing great inconvenience to maintenance.

The decentralized door electronic system, as shown in the figure below, has independent modules for each door, which communicate through the CAN/LIN bus. Each sub-module uses the door module driver chip NCV7707 and the system basic chip NCV7462, which greatly simplifies the design.
