[Solution News] Save time, effort and cost! WPG launches Type-C fast charging solution based on Realtek
On November 17, 2016, WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market , announced that its subsidiary U-Shang has launched Realtek's latest Type-C fast charging solution, which includes Realtek's USB 3.1 Type-C controller chip, RTS5442. It has a built-in Type-C Power Delivery control unit that supports PD2.0 specifications and reduces system BOM cost, making it easy to design a USB 3.1 Type-C product that supports USB 3.1 Type-C power control and transmission.

Realtek, the production line of Youshang Group, said that RTS5442 integrates CC and PD controllers and contains SPIFlash, does not require an external oscillator and supports Type-C connection control functions. It uses QFN24 4mmX4mm packaging, simplifies peripheral components, greatly shortens development time, and easily designs small and exquisite products. In addition, RTS5442 complies with the latest specifications of the current Type-C, making it easy for developers to design and save development costs, helping customers create more exquisite, compact and differentiated products.
