On April 20, 2017, WPG Holdings, a leading electronic component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market , announced that its subsidiary Quanta Electronics has launched solutions for handheld application devices based on Toshiba and Austrian Microelectronics AMS. Such as TransferJetTM, a short-range wireless transmission technology, a high-efficiency and fast wireless charging solution, Bluetooth, interface bridge chips, PMI, etc. It can provide any smartphone, tablet computer and various peripheral accessories.

As the resolution and image quality of multimedia content become higher and higher, it is inevitable to receive or send large amounts of data at high speed on peripheral devices such as cameras and LCD monitors, because only in this way can the working requirements of major processors such as baseband and application processors be met. Toshiba has launched an interface bridge chip called "Mobile Peripheral Device (MPD)" that supports high-speed data transmission protocols such as MIPI, LVDS, Display Port and HDMI. Toshiba's MPD can not only transmit data at high speed, but also bridge the main processor and peripheral devices with different interfaces. Toshiba has also launched a wide range of peripheral product portfolios, such as input and output expansion devices and SC card controllers.

Toshiba's bridge and buffer ICs support various serial data transmission protocols such as MIPI®, MDDI, LVDS, Display Port and HDMI, facilitating the design of mobile phones.

The I/O expander IC can easily enhance the I/O capabilities of existing systems, including GPIO, keyboards, LED controllers, and timers. The application areas of this expander are very wide, involving mobile phones, digital cameras, printers, etc.

In addition, Toshiba is also developing various auxiliary products around the main processor, such as SD card host controllers that can transfer data to SD cards at high speed.
