Toshiba Launches Low-Power Brushed DC Motor Driver IC
Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") has announced the launch of the newest member of its brushed DC motor driver IC lineup, the "TB67H450FNG . " The new product has a maximum rating of 50V/3.5A [1] and can drive motors over a wide operating voltage range. In addition, the product is packaged in a small HSOP8 surface mount package with compatible pin assignments for greater applicability. Mass production begins today.

The new IC can drive brushed motors at a supply voltage of 4.5V to 44V. It supports a variety of applications, including USB-powered, battery-powered, and industrial 12 to 36V powered devices. In addition, the TB67H450FNG also has a 3.5A current drive capability and can be used for motor drives in vacuum cleaning robots, refrigerators and other home appliances, as well as office equipment, ATM machines and many other applications.
To meet the need for low power consumption, Toshiba has also optimized the standby current consumption of the TB67H450FNG through a newly developed power supply circuit, automatically entering standby mode when the motor stops running, and shutting down the VCC regulator for internal circuit operation. This helps reduce energy consumption in OA equipment and home appliances, as well as extend the battery life of battery-powered equipment.
The IC adopts a small surface mount HSOP8 package, which can save space and achieve good heat dissipation performance through the package heat dissipation pad design.

Wide operating voltage range: 4.5V to 44V, suitable for high current drive devices;
Low standby current consumption: 1μA (max) @VM = 24V, Ta = 25°C;
It adopts a small 8-pin surface mount HSOP8 package with compatible pin assignment and uses a bottom E-type thermal pad to enhance heat dissipation.
Industrial equipment, including OA equipment and bank terminals; household appliances (including vacuum cleaning robots); battery-powered equipment (electronic locks and small household robots); equipment using 5V USB power supply.
Notes:
[1] The actual motor drive current depends on the operating environment, ambient temperature, power supply voltage and other factors.
