①It is to connect circuits with different ground potentials to achieve signal transmission;

③It is to prevent the human body from directly contacting the AC power cord, achieve electrical isolation, and ensure human body safety.




Basic characteristics of the device


The 4-channel transistor output optocouplers (hereinafter referred to as transistor couplers) TLP294-4 and TLP295-4 launched by Toshiba and put into large quantities on the market have standardized LED input threshold voltages and are packaged in SO16, which can achieve high performance in medium and low-speed insulated communication interfaces. Compared to Toshiba's current transistor couplers, the TLP292-4 and TLP293-4, these two products integrate a discharge resistor for storing charge at the base of the transistor, resulting in shorter transmission delay times. In terms of insulation performance, the above products have a minimum creepage distance of 5mm and a minimum isolation voltage of 3.75kVrms, and have been certified by international safety standards such as UL1577 and EN 60747-5-5. Therefore, these devices are also suitable for applications with high insulation performance requirements. Applications.

Product application direction


The main difference between TLP294-4 and TLP295-4 is that TLP294-4 is an AC input type and TLP295-4 is a DC input type. Existing transistor couplers have been used in applications with communication speeds up to about 10kbps, and the new products support higher communication speeds from 10kbps to 20kbps, so they are suitable for switching power supplies, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), inverters, and AC servos. Ensure signal transmission efficiency


The allowable range of the optocoupler's current transfer ratio (CTR) is 50% to 200%. This is because when CTR <50%, the LED in the optocoupler requires a larger operating current (I F >5.0mA) to properly control the duty cycle of the monolithic switching power supply IC, which will increase the power consumption of the optocoupler. . If CTR>200%, when starting the circuit or when the load suddenly changes, the single-chip switching power supply may be accidentally triggered, affecting the normal output.
