Toshiba releases its first 200V transistor output automotive photocoupler

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) today announced the launch of the “TLX9188,” a high-voltage transistor-output automotive photocoupler for signal isolation communications in automotive equipment including electric vehicles. The product will begin mass shipments today.

The TLX9188’s high-voltage phototransistor offers a 200V collector-emitter voltage rating, which is 2.5 times higher than Toshiba’s current TLX9185A and is Toshiba’s first product to reach this level ^[1] . By specifying the maximum values ​​of the switching characteristics (on time, off time), this new photocoupler can be used as a unidirectional switch. In addition, it can also be used in analog signal feedback circuits for 100V to 200V devices, helping to reduce application circuit costs.

• Battery management system: voltage monitoring, mechanical relay holding detection, ground fault detection, etc.

• Analog signal feedback, etc.

• High collector-emitter breakdown voltage: V (BR)CEO = 200V (minimum)

• High current transfer ratio: I C /I F = 100% (minimum), GB grade

• High isolation voltage: BVS = 3750Vrms (minimum)

• Wide rated operating temperature range: T opr = -40°C to 125°C

• AEC-Q101 qualified

• IATF 16949 Certification
