TE's solar photovoltaic project in Shanghai's southern manufacturing base has an additional installation area of more than 1,300 square meters and a planned installed capacity of more than 200 kilowatts. The project construction period is about two months. After it is officially put into operation, the power generation is expected to be approximately 200,000 kilowatt hours in the first year. TE's Shanghai South Manufacturing Base will have priority to use the generated power to inject new green and clean energy into its daily operations. Based on Shanghai area conversion parameters, power generation in the first year can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 84 tons.

"Energy transformation is a key part of implementing the 'carbon peak and carbon neutral' strategy. The launch of the rooftop solar photovoltaic project at TE's Shanghai South District manufacturing base has played a positive role in increasing the scale of photovoltaic installations in Xuhui District and achieving energy conservation, emission reduction and carbon reduction. " The relevant person in charge of Hongmei Street in Xuhui District said, "We also hope that TE's successful practice can drive more regional enterprises to carry out more distributed photovoltaic projects and achieve cleaner and higher-quality development."

"Sustainable development has always been one of the key elements of TE's mission. The direct use of green energy represented by distributed photovoltaic power generation at our operating sites represents another big step towards achieving our sustainable development goals." TE Mr. Zhang Chao, general manager of China and vice president of human resources in Asia Pacific, said, “At the same time, renewable energy is also one of the key business areas that TE has been actively supporting. Our innovative and professional products continue to help the renewable energy industry. Development. Whether it is providing products and technologies to the industry or directly using more renewable energy, TE wants to do its part for the environment and sustainable development.”

Before the launch of the photovoltaic project at TE's southern manufacturing base in Shanghai, in October last year, the rooftop photovoltaic project at the Qingdao manufacturing base of TE's Home Appliances Division was the first to be successfully connected to the grid. Actual carbon emissions in the first year will be reduced by more than 1,000 tons. At the same time, the rooftop photovoltaic power generation projects at TE's three manufacturing bases in Kunshan, Xiamen and Weifang are also actively advancing.

Driven by the mission of creating a more secure, sustainable, efficient and connected future, TE released its global sustainability and corporate responsibility long-term strategy "One Connected World" in 2020 and has continued to do so over the past three years. get along with. According to the latest annual corporate responsibility report released this year, TE's manufacturing bases using renewable energy will increase from 37 to 80 in 2022, and the use of renewable energy has accounted for half of the company's global energy consumption. "Scope 1 1 " and "Scope 2 2 " greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by a total of 34%. This year, TE has also updated and upgraded its "One Connected World" goal and set higher greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.
