Artificial Intelligence Industry Outstanding Innovation Product Award
Renesas RZ/V2H Microprocessor
Won the "Veco Cup OFweek 2024 Artificial Intelligence Industry Outstanding Innovation Product Award"
Chen Feng, Senior Manager of MCU Business Development Department of Renesas Electronics, received the award on behalf of the company
The RZ/V2H is equipped with Renesas' new generation proprietary AI accelerator DRP-AI3 (Dynamically Configurable Processor-AI3), which can bring 10TOPS/W energy efficiency, which is up to 10 times higher than earlier models. In addition, the pruning technology used by the DRP-AI3 accelerator significantly enhances AI computing efficiency, increasing AI inference performance to 80TOPS. This performance improvement enables engineers to process visual AI applications directly on edge AI devices without relying on cloud computing platforms.
The RZ/V2H integrates four Arm ® Cortex ® -A55 CPU cores with a maximum operating frequency of 1.8GHz (for Linux application processing), two Cortex-R8 cores with an operating frequency of 800MHz (for high-performance real-time processing), and a Cortex-M33 sub-core. By integrating these cores into a single chip, the product can effectively manage visual AI and real-time control tasks, making it ideal for future demanding robotics applications. Thanks to the RZ/V2H's lower power consumption, there is no need for cooling fans and other heat dissipation components, allowing engineers to design smaller, lower-cost, and more reliable systems.

Cabin-Driver Integration Technology Breakthrough Award
Renesas 5th Generation R-Car Product Family
Won the "Veco Cup OFweek 2024 Cabin-Driver Integrated Technology Breakthrough Award"
Zhang Pu, Marketing Director of High Performance Computing Products at Renesas Electronics, accepted the award on behalf of the company
Renesas' 5th generation R-Car product family is built around an Arm-based computing engine, including high-performance 64-bit SoCs, 32-bit crossover MCUs, and 16-bit MCUs with better performance than similar products, enabling customers to achieve higher flexibility, adaptability, and integration in their designs. The new product family can be expanded vertically and horizontally in all vehicle models, performance levels, and applications, and it pays great attention to software reusability during design, supporting compatibility across multiple categories and generations of automotive products.
The roadmap for the 5th generation R-Car product family also includes future support for chiplet technology. As an emerging packaging option, chiplets can combine multiple products with different processes and voltage levels to provide customers with more flexibility and software reusability, while reducing development costs and time to market. In addition, the 64-bit 5th generation R-Car SoC adopts an open architecture to encourage OEMs to make differentiated designs. These SoCs are equipped with memory-intensive computing application functions required to process future software-defined cars. They are manufactured using cutting-edge process technology that supports high-performance edge AI computing and powerful cloud connections, and can be easily combined with Renesas' extensive product portfolio such as analog and power.
The 5th generation R-Car product lineup will expand beyond 64-bit SoCs - it will bring more 32-bit MCUs based on Arm cores, with GHz-class real-time throughput, fast boot performance, and embedded non-volatile memory to manage electronic control modules for domain and regional control applications. In addition, these products also include an expanded "crossover" option that fills the performance gap between SoCs and traditional 32-bit MCUs.
The 5th Generation R-Car Product Family
In the future, Renesas will actively explore more innovative applications of intelligent control technology and continuously expand its application scope in various fields. At the same time, Renesas will continue to strengthen its R&D strength and technological innovation capabilities, continuously invest resources and energy, improve the team's professional quality and innovation capabilities, provide customers with more professional and efficient products and solutions, and promote the steady development of the market.
