2023 ACM Fellows announced: Chinese account for 1/5, 68 people including the three giants of deep learning, Ma Weiying, etc. were elected

Just now, the list of new ACM Fellows has been released.

According to the official list, a total of 68 people have been shortlisted for 2023 ACM Fellows around the world .

Among them are many well-known experts in the computer field:

  • Father of the World Wide Web, Tim Berners-Lee

  • The three giants of deep learning, Yoshua Bengio, Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun

  • Chief Scientist of Tsinghua University Intelligent Industry Research Institute (AIR), Ma Weiying

ACM President Yannis Ioannidis said:

ACM Fellows account for only 1% of our global membership.

Their contributions are important building blocks for the digital society that shapes our modern world.

It is worth mentioning that among the 68 people elected as ACM Fellows this time, about 14 are Chinese, accounting for nearly 1/5; among them, a total of 7 Microsoft scholars were shortlisted.

Chen Haibo

Chen Haibo is a professor at the School of Software, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and chief scientist of Huawei's operating system.

Reason for selection: Made outstanding contributions to improving the scalability and security of operating systems and distributed systems.

Chen Yingying

Jennifer Chen is chair and professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University.

Reason for selection: Made outstanding contributions to the design and application of mobile sensing and mobile security systems.

Dong Xin

Xin Luna Dong , chief scientist of Meta.

Reason for selection: Made outstanding contributions to the construction of knowledge graphs and data integration.

Du Wenliang

Du Wenliang is a full professor (tenured professor) in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University .

Reason for selection: Made outstanding contributions to network security education and research.

Gao Jianfeng

Gao Jianfeng, Vice President of Microsoft and Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington.

Han Zhu

Z. Morley Mao is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan.

Elaine Shi
