Have you ever experienced these familiar scenes?

1

Every time I prepare to listen to music, the headphone wires I take out of my pocket are always tangled.

To this end, we purchased Bluetooth headphones to solve this problem.

2

However, when listening to music with Bluetooth headphones, the music will stop abruptly as long as the phone is not in the same room.

To this end, we have to carry our mobile phones with us at all times to ensure the reception of Bluetooth signals.

3

I want to hold a "silent" party late at night so as not to disturb my neighbors, but a mobile phone can only connect to one pair of headphones.

For this...we can only really have a silent party?

Today , with the latest wireless communication technology, users can listen and enjoy music truly anywhere. This so-called "streaming music supply" allows us to listen to music using smartphones and apps in a portable acoustic solution that fits our ears.

Like many battery-powered Internet of Things (IoT) applications, a key factor in implementing audio applications is power consumption. Since most of these devices use Bluetooth wireless connectivity, they are completely dependent on smartphones as their "digital hub."

While the need for direct public connectivity for devices will almost certainly be addressed in the “5G era,” it will take some time before the infrastructure is ready to replace the convenience of using portable acoustic solutions “anywhere” via Bluetooth connectivity. To enable direct audio streaming, manufacturers are looking to use new connections such as Wi-Fi, which is available almost everywhere, to stream audio directly to devices.

To this end, ON Semiconductor has brought a new solution for future audio streaming, designing the LC823455 that can control power consumption and support Wi-Fi connection.

LC823455

The SoC integrates advanced audio digital signal processing (DSP) for high-resolution audio quality using a 32-bit LPDSP32 processor. The device also provides built-in processing algorithms designed specifically for processing music data.

To meet the memory requirements of Wi-Fi, which is much larger than that of Bluetooth, the LC823455 provides an impressive 4MB of static random access memory (SRAM) . The dual-core system based on the Arm® Cortex®-M3 processor and the independent playback function can minimize power consumption, thus helping to extend battery life. This function also supports listeners to download their favorite songs and store them in external memory.

Imagine the freedom of a portable acoustic solution.

We will be able to enjoy the audio streaming services we need and move around without having to stay glued to our phones.

We can listen to music while picking up a magazine or playing with our pets without having to carry our phones with us. If you are worried about low battery but want to continue listening to music, you can turn off the wireless mode and continue listening in music playback mode.

The scenarios mentioned at the beginning now have nearly perfect solutions. For music lovers, isn’t this a dream come true? The application of audio streaming technology will bring more possibilities to our lives!
