Mouser Electronics is now selling the FS1015 and FS3000 air velocity sensor modules from Renesas Electronics , with the FS1015 being vertically mounted and the FS3000 being surface mounted. Both products can accurately monitor air velocity to detect system faults, measure air handling effectiveness, and control fan speeds for applications such as HVAC systems, analytical gas monitoring systems, data centers, and air quality systems.

The FS1015 and FS3000 sensors use a series of MEMS thermocouples to achieve high-sensitivity air velocity monitoring. Both products can measure DC air velocity up to 15 m/s, allowing system control to make quick adjustments, improving efficiency and reducing costs while providing closed-loop control. Thanks to the solid thermal isolation of the active MEMS sensing element and the silicon carbide thin film coating, both products have excellent wear resistance and long-term reliability.

The FS1015 is available in a 28.2mm × 14.2mm × 7.3mm package with leads for vertical mounting and side tabs for screw fixation. The FS3000 module is available in an 8.0mm × 9.1mm × 4.4mm surface mount package, ideal for low-profile applications.
