A total of 15,000 km of cables were used during the expansion , almost equal to the distance from Singapore to the White House in Washington;

It is the recently opened Micron Technology's Fab 10 NAND flash memory wafer expansion factory in Singapore.

The opening ceremony was attended by Micron Technology CEO Mark Durcan, Vice President of Global Manufacturing Wayne Allan, and more than 400 guests including customers, partners, local government officials in Singapore and media.
Gartner's market forecast shows that the SSD storage market will grow by 75 % between 2015 and 2016. This expansion is a milestone for Micron - it is expected to respond more quickly to various market conditions by increasing 3D NAND production. Through the expansion, the entire factory area has increased by approximately 255,000 square feet and the clean room area has nearly doubled. The first products are expected to be launched later this year and in 2017 .
Singapore government officials and Micron Technology executives have given positive comments on the expanded factory.
