MCC SMPS Library Configuration for SEPIC LED Driver Demo Board


Introduction

The Single-Ended Primary Inductor Converter (SEPIC) LED Driver Demonstration Board is a hardware platform designed to demonstrate the flexible control capabilities of Microchip's Core Independent Peripheral (CIP) hybrid power microcontrollers, typically used in Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) LED applications. The demonstration board integrates the PIC16F1769, a freely programmable Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) device that can be programmed using code generated by the MPLAB® Code Configurator (MCC) SMPS library.


In today's recommended application note, the MCC SMPS library is used to quickly and easily configure and generate code for the peripherals used on the SEPIC LED Driver Demonstration Board. The MCC SMPS library is a user-friendly plug-in that needs to be installed on the MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and MCC. The library generates drivers for controlling and driving the CIP Hybrid Power Supply microcontroller peripherals based on the settings and selections made in the Graphical User Interface (GUI).
