Melexis will once again be present at the 2018 Munich Electronics Show with interactive demonstrations of its sensing technology

Melexis has launched a unique VR experience for the 2018 Munich Electronics Show. In the Melexis virtual car, visitors can fully experience interactive exploration and gain in-depth insights into various novel current sensing and time-of-flight sensor applications in the car. Visitors can also learn about other Melexis sensors through vivid videos to improve the functions of modern cars.

3D Magnetic Sensing demonstrates the Triaxis® technology and the features of the MLX90393 in three dimensions, using LEDs to display the movement of permanent magnets in 3D space. As the magnets move, the LEDs change color and flash in precise patterns, following the movement of the magnets, demonstrating how Triaxis® technology can provide a simple and effective position sensing solution for automotive applications such as gear levers.

Based on the MLX81325 motor driver, we will demonstrate the Melexis embedded motor drive technology and how it works in driving automotive water pumps and other related applications. The demonstration will be presented in an informative video.

Melexis' MLX90640 is a 32 x 24 pixel thermal array that uses Far Infrared (FIR) technology to sense temperature without physical contact. In fact, thanks to a small thermal camera installed in the chip, the device can detect the presence of a person based on body temperature. Our demonstration will use the MLX90640 and proprietary software algorithms to detect guests at the exhibition, and this technology can also be applied to detecting vehicle passengers.
