Maxim Press Release | New 5kVRMS Reinforced Digital Isolator: 2X Higher Throughput, 4X Lower Power Consumption
MAX22445 enables high-throughput, safe, small-footprint industrial automation systems
In high-voltage devices, digital isolators provide signal isolation and level conversion to ensure the normal operation of the circuit and prevent users from encountering high-voltage threats such as electric shock. Of course, there are large differences between isolator products. Many isolators consume a lot of power, generate a lot of heat, and introduce large transmission delays, limiting the reliability and throughput of the system.
The MAX22445 overcomes the shortcomings of other digital isolators and provides a reinforced, double-insulation isolation barrier to support fast digital signal transmission. The IC can transmit signals up to 200Mbps and consumes far less power than competing solutions. The device is packaged in a 16-pin wide-body SOIC with 8mm creepage and clearance.
Low power consumption: At 1Mbps and VDD of 1.8V, the current consumption and power consumption per channel are only 0.41mA and 0.74mW. Compared with competitive solutions, the IC power consumption is reduced by 4 times, reducing heat and supporting reliable and compact designs
High speed: The maximum transmission delay is 10.5ns, the maximum data rate is 200Mbps, supporting fast, high-precision data acquisition and high-speed interface, providing a wide timing margin. Compared with other solutions, IC throughput is increased by 2 times
Stable and reliable: Double isolation layer provides 5kV RMS and 10kV surge protection, ensuring the product maintains reliable performance in long-term operation and meets operational safety standards
