Innovation-driven, win-win cooperation: Hefei High-tech Zone Semiconductor and Wireless Technology Seminar concluded successfully

On October 15, 2024, the Semiconductor Chip and Wireless Communication Test Technology Seminar hosted by Keysight was successfully held at the Lefuqiang Park Hyatt Hotel in Hefei High-tech Zone. The seminar brought together experts, scholars and industry technicians from the semiconductor and wireless communication fields to discuss cutting-edge test technologies and solutions and promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial applications.



The seminar covered a number of current hot topics in the industry, focusing on key technologies of AI computing chips, 5G millimeter wave multi-channel transceiver testing, signal and power integrity simulation solutions, high-performance automotive chips, and Hefei University of Technology's innovative practices in the training of integrated circuit test talents, providing valuable experience for in-depth cooperation between industry, academia and research. The conference attracted more than 50 customers from integrated circuit and automobile-related companies in Hefei High-tech Zone.



Hot topics and technology sharing


Liu Renjie, general manager of Keysight Technologies Nanjing Branch, delivered an opening speech for the conference. In his speech, he said that as a frontier of scientific and technological innovation, Hefei High-tech Zone has continuously supported the development of industries such as integrated circuits and artificial skills. In this innovation-driven era, meeting technological challenges has been integrated into various fields. Keysight Technologies has always been committed to integrating more innovations into product design. It is hoped that through this seminar, cooperation and technological breakthroughs among upstream and downstream companies in the industrial chain will be promoted.

In the keynote speech, Shen Chen, a digital solution engineer at Keysight Technologies, introduced the latest developments in high-speed bus technologies such as PCIe 6.0 and DDR5, and emphasized the importance of CXL technology in low-latency and high-bandwidth data processing. He also discussed the test challenges brought about by the increase in speed. Keysight Technologies provides a complete physical layer and protocol test solution for PCIe, DDR5 and CXL to help solve the complex test requirements of AI computing chips.

Wang Fan, senior RF and microwave application engineer at Keysight Technologies, focused on the development of 5G millimeter wave technology, emphasized the increasing demand for millimeter wave multi-channel transceiver chips and RF front-end devices, discussed the complexity of traditional RF microwave parameter testing and modulation parameter testing (such as EVM and ACPR), and demonstrated the complete test platform provided by Keysight Technologies to help address multi-channel and multi-state testing challenges and accelerate the R&D and production of 5G millimeter wave devices.

The special guest speaker of this conference, Professor Huang Zhengfeng from Hefei University of Technology, brought a special sharing of "Future-oriented Integrated Circuit Test Talent Training and Industrial Application Practice - Case Sharing of Hefei University of Technology", sharing the school's successful experience in testing talent training. The focus was on improving students' practical ability by optimizing the teaching staff, curriculum setting and school-enterprise joint training model. Professor Huang also demonstrated how to promote the close integration of talents and industries through industry-university-research cooperation, cultivate professional talents with industrial application capabilities, and help the development and innovation of the integrated circuit industry.

Yi Zeyu, a solution engineer at the EDA department of Keysight Technologies, introduced that as the data transmission rate increases, signal integrity issues are becoming increasingly prominent. Through simulation tools such as Keysight's ADS, EMPro, and SystemVue, comprehensive signal integrity analysis can be performed on high-speed digital links (including PCIe G5/6, USB 4 Gen2, DDR5, etc.). The content covers the simulation and prediction of links such as signal sources, device packaging, and PCB routing, helping engineers optimize signal integrity during the design phase and improve system reliability and performance.

Yan Zhenlong, senior application engineer at Keysight Technologies, introduced the latest developments in automotive chips in the field of intelligent driving, especially the increasing demand for high-computing chips in ADAS and autonomous driving technologies. He emphasized the importance of the automotive SerDes high-speed bus protocol in long-distance, high-bandwidth data transmission, and introduced Keysight's complete test solution for the MIPI A-PHY interface to help ensure lossless, real-time transmission of data from on-board cameras and other sensors in autonomous driving systems.



New product display and technological innovation



In addition to the wonderful keynote speeches, Keysight also displayed a number of high-performance test instruments at the conference, including the latest UXR-B series oscilloscopes, M8050A bit error rate testers, E5081A ENA-X vector network analyzers and other cutting-edge equipment. These products are designed to meet the complex testing needs of the semiconductor and 5G fields, helping engineers cope with the challenges of modern technology and further promote technological innovation in the industry.


Finally, Keysight Technologies Market Industry Manager Zhou Wei led the participants and speakers to discuss the future development and testing challenges of the semiconductor and automotive industries.
