World's First Bluetooth Mesh LED Using Cypress BLE Technology
Recently, Cypress's Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology successfully helped LEDVANCE, a leader in the lighting industry and a well-known North American manufacturer of SYLVANIA brand general lighting products, launch the world's first Bluetooth® Mesh LED lighting product - SYLVANIA SMART + Bluetooth full-color LED A19 bulb, indoor full-color LED flexible light strip, soft white LED A19 filament and spherical bulb.
Bluetooth technology is a simple, secure, global wireless connection standard. Current Bluetooth technology already supports mesh networking, enabling many-to-many (m:m) device communication and is optimized for the creation of large-scale device networks. Although Bluetooth lighting products are very simple to set up, users generally need to be near the device to control them unless there is another device acting as a hub.
New Bluetooth mesh networking technology enables users to control devices, such as the new SYLVANIA SMART+ Bluetooth lighting products, from another room, because Bluetooth mesh devices can communicate with each other and pass command signals within a range of 300 meters. Since Bluetooth is one of the most commonly used technology standards for mobile devices and voice assistants, this technological advancement makes home automation products more attractive to consumers. SYLVANIA SMART+ Bluetooth mesh lighting products will be available in early 2018.
