Zhang Feng, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that in 2013, my country's communications industry generally maintained a good trend of stable and rapid development. First, the scale of networks and users continued to grow. By the end of December 2013, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users in my country reached 189 million, and the proportion of users using broadband products above 4 megabits reached 78.8%. The number of fiber-optic access ports reached 115 million, and the number of Internet users in my country reached 680 million, with a penetration rate of 45.8%. Second, the pace of industry transformation and development accelerated. By the end of December 2013, the proportion of non-voice business revenue in telecommunications business revenue reached 53.2%, among which mobile data and mobile Internet business developed rapidly, with business revenue increasing by 59.6% year-on-year.
