Nvidia recruits another 1,000 people in Taiwan

In an exclusive interview with TVBS, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said that Taiwan's ecosystem is unique and that NVIDIA will recruit another 1,000 engineers in Taiwan in the next five years. AMD Chairman and President Lisa Su was interviewed and said that she is optimistic about the demand for AI that will start this year and that AMD's annual growth rate in the next five years will easily exceed 50%.

Huang Renxun said that Taiwan's high-tech industry chain is an indispensable partner of NVIDIA. Many assembly plants such as Foxconn, Asus, MSI, Quanta, etc., and many supply chains have helped NVIDIA along the way.

He also emphasized that TSMC is an incredible semiconductor manufacturer and the world needs an AI manufacturer if it wants to customize AI, just like customizing chips.

As for Nvidia's consideration of new investment plans in Taiwan, Huang Renxun said that it would require thousands of engineers and of course a large construction site. He welcomes recommendations from all walks of life for suitable places. He has not yet decided which county or city in Taiwan to settle in, but many places can be considered and are still under consideration.

For young students who want to work at NVIDIA, Huang Renxun suggested that subjects such as mathematics, computer science, and electrical engineering are very important. At the same time, NVIDIA is also looking for talents in various fields, including business, marketing, etc.; and personality traits such as optimism and a love of working with others are also needed.

When asked whether he would meet with AMD Chairman Lisa Su, he said that there are no arrangements at the moment, but it would be great if there were.
