1. AMD stock price hits a new high for 6 consecutive days

According to Cailianshe on August 5, semiconductor giant AMD has risen for six consecutive trading days and has continuously set new historical highs. The reason is that there are signs that the company is taking market share from its larger competitor Intel . AMD's stock price rose 5.5% on August 4, closing at a record high of $118.77, and once hit a record high of $122.49 per share during the session. The stock not only set a closing record for six consecutive trading days, but also rose by more than 2% every day.

It is worth noting that AMD's current round of strength began on July 28, the day after the company expected stronger data center chip sales in the second half of the year. It also expected that 2021 revenue would increase by nearly 60% year-on-year. Since then, AMD's stock price has risen by 35%, while Intel's stock price has only risen by 1% during the same period.

Citi research analyst Danley cited data from the well-known research organization Mercury Research and pointed out that although AMD's microprocessor shipments fell 3.1% month-on-month in the second quarter, its market share increased from 16.1% in the first quarter to 16.9% in the second quarter, while Intel's market share fell from 83.9% in the first quarter to 83.1% in the second quarter.
