ON Semiconductor ( NASDAQ: ON) , a leader in smart power and smart sensing technologies , has launched its latest mixed-signal controller dedicated to bridgeless totem pole power factor correction (TP PFC) topologies. The NCP1681 targets ultra-high density offline power supplies. The new controller builds on the success of the NCP1680 for designs up to 350 W, extending power capabilities into the kilowatt range.
The new NCP1681 extends the benefits of codeless TP PFC designs to higher powers. This enables our customers to continue to improve the energy efficiency of their designs while reducing design time and cost, allowing them to deliver solutions to market quickly.
The new NCP1681 is suitable for higher power supplies in the 350 W to several kilowatt range, operates from a universal power input (90 - 265 Vac), and is widely used in applications including servers, high-performance computing, telecommunications, industrial and OLED TVs. At high voltage input, the NCP1681 TP PFC solution will achieve an efficiency of nearly 99%.
