Which parameter in the datasheet of the five devices, diode, triode, MOS tube, op amp, and optocoupler, can reflect whether it is high speed or low speed?

The switching frequency can be used to look at diodes, transistors, and MOS tubes, the bandwidth can be used to look at op amps, and the speed can be looked at by optocouplers.  Details Published on 2022-9-7 14:21

Datasheet parameters related to time, especially those in time units, can be considered as parameters related to speed

What is the reverse recovery time of a diode to be considered a high-speed diode? What is the English equivalent of the switching time of a transistor in the datasheet? What is the switching time less than to be considered a high-speed transistor? What are the input and output capacitance and switching time of a MOS to be considered a high-speed MOS? Doesn't the gain-bandwidth product GBW of an op amp count? What is the slew rate greater than to be considered high speed? Optocouplers also have corresponding parameters to describe high speed and low speed, right?

I don't remember if there are any hard and fast rules in this regard, such as what level of reverse recovery time of a diode is considered slow.  Details Published on 2022-8-25 16:57

I don't remember any hard and fast rules in this regard.

For example, what is the reverse recovery time of a diode?

As for the reverse recovery time of several commonly used diodes, it is necessary to understand the process manufacturing and usage scenarios of different diodes.

The reverse recovery time of an ordinary diode is about hundreds of nS, while that of a high-speed diode is less than one hundred nS. For example, a Schottky diode has no reverse recovery time. The switching time of a small-signal Schottky diode is about tens of pS, and the switching time of a special large-capacity Schottky diode is only tens of pS.

The high and low speed thresholds of each device are different, and I have never seen the actual definition of the specific high and low speeds.

It's no use looking at the reverse recovery time. I still don't know whether it is low speed or high speed.  Details Published on 2022-9-1 17:07
