Why ADI ranks seventh on Forbes' Digital Economy 100 list
Recently, Forbes released the Digital 100 list for the first time. ADI was listed on the list and was one of only two semiconductor technology providers in the top ten, ranking 7th!
In the digital economy era, why did ADI, as a leader in analog and mixed signal, make it to the " Global Digital Economy Top 100 List " and rank seventh?
With the continuous growth of digital demand, various wireless communication devices and consumer electronic products based on digital technology are emerging in an endless stream, including traditional analog products that are constantly adding digital processing functions. However, the rapid development of digital technology has not hindered the advancement of analog technology. On the contrary, the new round of digitalization has brought a broader development space for analog technology. Moreover, with the advancement of digital technology, the demand for high-precision, high-speed, and low-power analog products is increasing, and analog products largely determine the performance of today's digital devices.
The development of cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and other industries has become a representative of the vitality of today's digital economy. In the digital economy era with computing power as the core, analog technology and devices play an indispensable role and serve as a key bridge connecting the real world and the digital world. So this is why ADI was selected into the digital economy ranking list.
For example, in recent years, ADI has helped New England tomato farmers build a complete sensor-to-cloud solution based on its expertise in detection, measurement, and conversion, as well as in-depth research on the IoT ecosystem. Similarly, in the energy sector, many utility companies have adopted the IoT in their advanced metering infrastructure, and the use of ADI's edge-to-cloud, non-intrusive monitoring solutions has helped them solve the accuracy issues of traditional meters. Based on its deep technical accumulation in the field of autonomous driving, especially its global leading advantages in positioning, perception, and analog signal processing, ADI recently announced that it has officially joined Baidu's Apollo autonomous driving open platform.
As a semiconductor company with more than 50 years of history and focusing on high-performance analog technology, ADI has built a perfect bridge connecting the real world and the digital world with its outstanding detection, measurement, power supply, connection and interpretation technologies. It continues to innovate and is able to cope with the most difficult design challenges in various fields, surpassing all possibilities on the road to leading the "digital economy" era!
Ranking Description
The "Top 100 Digital Economy Companies" list conducted a comprehensive study and analysis of technology, media, digital retail and telecommunications companies on the Forbes Global 2000 list from four dimensions: turnover, profit, assets and stock price trends, and finally selected the 100 companies with the largest scale and influence in the world. IT software and service companies accounted for 35% of the companies on the list, while there were 26 technology hardware and equipment companies and 23 semiconductor companies on the list.
To select the Digital Economy 100, Forbes first looked at the technology, media, digital retail and telecommunications companies in the Forbes Global 2000 list, an annual ranking of the world's largest companies. In addition, Forbes included large digital economy companies that have recently gone public since the release of the Global 2000 list in May. The companies were scored on a variety of metrics, including stock performance, sales, profits and asset growth over the past year. The price information referenced in the "Digital Economy 100" list is based on September 7, 2018.
