Santa Clara, Calif., May 18, 2023 - Applied Materials, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMAT) announced its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2023 ended April 30, 2023.

Applied Materials achieved revenue of $6.63 billion. Based on GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), the company's gross profit margin was 46.7%, operating profit was $1.91 billion, accounting for 28.8% of net sales, and earnings per share (EPS) was $1.86.

On an adjusted non-GAAP basis, the company's gross margin was 46.8%, operating profit was $1.93 billion, accounting for 29.1% of net sales, and earnings per share were $2.

The company achieved cash flow from operating activities of US$2.29 billion and returned US$1.02 billion to shareholders through US$800 million in share repurchases and US$219 million in dividends.

Looking ahead to the third quarter of fiscal 2023, Applied Materials expects net sales of approximately $6.15 billion, plus or minus $400 million. Adjusted non-GAAP diluted earnings per share are expected to be in the range of $1.56 to $1.92.
