Shenzhen International Electronics Exhibition (ELEXCON 2019) brings together resources from five major industries: electronics, embedded systems, 5G, IoT, and automobiles. As the only company in the industry that focuses on providing one-stop sensing solutions, ams was invited to jointly demonstrate a number of smart sensing application DEMOs based on ToF and spectral sensors with its ecological partner Guangzhou Ligong Technology at ELEXCON 2019 , and shared "ams advanced optical technology to help solid-state lidar" at the 28th "Micro-Words and Great Meanings" LiDAR Technology and Application Seminar , popularizing the new technological concept of "sensing is life" .

Water dispensers are already commonplace in our daily lives, but are you satisfied with them? Have you ever experienced the embarrassment of a cup overflowing accidentally? Come to 1E12 and experience the wonderful time brought to you by ams sensor technology.
Based on the ams integrated 1D ToF distance measurement and proximity sensor module TMF8701 , the smart water dispenser can accurately detect the height of the water cup and the water level in real time, and can realize the quantitative water collection function of automatically discharging water when the cup is put down, and automatically stopping when the water volume reaches the preset height. The smart water dispenser with this new function can effectively prevent overflow, spillage and other common pain points in the use of water dispensers in life.
In addition to smart water dispensers, the ams TMF8701 can be used to realize a variety of applications, including fullness sensing of smart trash cans, occupancy detection of smart containers (ToF array), keystone correction of portable projectors, obstacle avoidance detection of sweeping robots, etc. It can be said that TMF8701 can play a role in any scenario where there is a need for accurate distance measurement.

From domestic water to industrial production and agricultural breeding water, human beings' pursuit of water quality is constant. Based on the ams spectral sensor AS7310L , it is possible to quickly and accurately detect the turbidity of water quality, which is convenient for subsequent disposal.
Come to booth 1E12 and you will be able to personally experience the fast and accurate measurement process of placing samples of different turbidity into a specified mold, and the OLED screen on the mold will display the current sample turbidity. However, if you use your eyes for a long time, you need more than just a desk lamp, but a smart and healthy eye protection lamp!
The smart eye protection lamp is built based on the powerful combination of ams ToF sensor TMF8701 and dual blue light channel spectral sensor AS7310L. It can easily realize gesture control of the console light on and off, brightness and dimming adjustment, and can also detect and adjust blue light to provide sufficient light for eye comfort, improving your working and reading experience at night.
With the development of textile technology, the composition of fabrics has become more and more diverse, and the application range has expanded from clothing, decoration to industrial use. As a result, the demand for qualitative analysis of the composition of fabrics used has become more and more common in many fields. For example, the composition analysis of interior fabrics in the automotive industry has become one of the standard testing items.
At booth 1E12 at ELEXCON 2019, you can experience the fabric material detection DEMO based on the 64-channel near-infrared spectral sensor AS7420 covering the 750~1050nm band of ams, and gain a deeper understanding of how to achieve infrared spectral analysis of various fabric materials through certain spectral characteristic values of infrared light for each fabric material.
AS7420 can also be used with ams' high-precision temperature sensor AS62XX to monitor the quality of grain in granaries. Through wireless technologies such as NB-IOT and LoRa, it can achieve non-manual, multi-point and real-time monitoring, and can predict the changing trend of grain quality based on current test data.
At booth 1E12 , you will also find a color detection pen based on the ams 11-channel visible spectrum sensor AS7341 . Through the spectrum-level chip, it can determine the true color you "see" and can be applied to general color measurement, skin color measurement, etc.
The AS7341 spectral sensor has been widely used to optimize camera images. With high sensitivity and compact size, the AS7341 has more accurate spectral measurement than other similar products, which helps to achieve better automatic white balance, more reliable light source identification, and integrated light source flicker detection function, which can reproduce colors more accurately and minimize the distortion of ambient light sources, so as to obtain clearer and more realistic photos.
Keynote Speech at the LiDAR Technology and Application Forum
Due to its centimeter-level ranging capability, LiDAR can be widely used in applications such as autonomous driving on highways, assisted driving when urban roads are congested, and automatic parking. The strong demand for autonomous driving has driven the booming automotive LiDAR market, and the market size is expected to grow rapidly from US$603 million in 2018 to US$5.826 billion in 2024.
At present, LiDAR has not been widely popularized due to its high cost. The industry generally has high hopes for pure solid-state LiDAR with greater cost advantages. AMS, a leading global supplier of high-performance sensor solutions, proposed that based on high-power addressable VCSEL array light source technology , a long-distance, high-precision solid-state LiDAR system can be achieved at a lower cost. In May 2019, AMS announced that it would jointly promote solid-state LiDAR systems with Ibeo and ZF, and would launch mass-produced products before 2021.
