As shown in the circuit in the figure, when ST is pressed, the KM coil is powered and closed, when ST is released, KM is self-protected and motor M runs. When one phase of the three-phase alternating current is disconnected, a potential difference occurs at the midpoint of the motor. This voltage is rectified and stabilized, causing relay K to be electrically activated, and KM to be released when de-energized, thereby de-energizing M and protecting the motor stator winding from being burned. This circuit is suitable for motors below 7.5kW.
