A brief discussion on several application solutions of GPRS [Copy link]

1. Overview

With the rapid development of communication technology, people have put forward higher requirements for the services provided by mobile networks. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a wireless packet switching technology based on the GSM system, which provides end-to-end, wide-area wireless IP connection, and is charged based on data traffic. It has the advantages of wide coverage, fast data transmission speed, real-time online, free sending and receiving, and fast login. Its basic principle: big data needs to be transmitted, and data is transmitted in the network in packets, and packet switching is used for packet transmission, so as to ensure a reasonable billing model and sharing of network resources.

2. Application

1) Street light monitoring system

2

The street lamp GPRS monitoring system consists of a main monitoring center, a centralized controller and several terminal nodes. As can be seen from the figure above, the monitoring center and each terminal node are connected through the GPRS public network. The terminal node is responsible for transmitting information such as the power supply, fault alarm, switch time, and ambient light conditions of the street lamp to the monitoring center, thereby achieving the purpose of information collection, processing, analysis and monitoring of the entire system. Power supply: In the current power grid conditions in my country's cities, the first half of the night is the peak of electricity consumption, and the grid voltage is often lower than the rated voltage. In the second half of the night, the power consumption is low and the power load is reduced, causing the voltage to rise, thereby reducing the service life of the bulb. The voltage and current in the transformer are monitored in real time, and the transformer voltage is adjusted to extend the service life of the bulb.

2) Meter reading system

2The GPRS meter reading system connects the meter reading equipment with the main station equipment through the GPRS network. The data is processed by the GPRS module and sent to the main station through the base station with the protocol, realizing real-time monitoring of user energy consumption data. GPRS is applied to the remote meter reading system. Through GPRS, the data is aggregated to the server, which can quickly produce power statistics and analysis, payment documents, etc., and also provides equipment management functions. For example: arrears processing and charging processing, to achieve real-time payment and real-time power; unpacking alarm, over-temperature alarm, over-voltage alarm, overload alarm and other danger prompts.

3) Smart car lock application

4

The smart lock is the core part of the smart bicycle, which consists of the main control MCU, GPRS communication module, GPS positioning module, battery management module, power generation equipment, lithium battery pack, electric control lock driver and speed measurement module. The power generation equipment stores electricity in the lithium battery pack through the battery management module, and the battery management module provides the battery voltage to other modules such as the microcontroller after stabilization. The GPS positioning module transmits the positioning information, and the speed measurement module transmits the speed and other information to the microcontroller. The microcontroller processes and analyzes the data and uploads it to the cloud platform through the GPRS module to perform operation commands such as charging, instant, and switching the electric control lock driver.

4) POS machine application

5

In view of the many problems and shortcomings of the existing wired POS system, a POS access solution based on the GPRS communication network has been launched. The POS wireless access method based on GPRS can solve the problem that the original POS can only be used in fixed occasions, so that the POS terminal is no longer restricted by the wired communication network. Mobile POS machines with GPRS wireless access modules can be used in various mobile charging, such as: collecting public fees, traffic police fines, taxi charges, express delivery charges, mobile vending machines, and other transaction occasions. Mobile payment technology combining GPRS wireless access with other payment devices is the current development direction.

GPRS is designed in combination with instruments, various sensors, motors, PLCs, drivers, displays, etc., and is widely used in access control systems, ticket machines, fire monitoring, computer room monitoring, thermal power, environmental monitoring, attendance machines, oil fields, industrial applications, and other fields.
