MSP430 rotary flow meter scanning interface and USB integration [Copy link]

MSP430 MCUs integrate analog and digital peripherals to meet your sensing and monitoring needs. Integrated peripherals include ADC, DAC, op amps, timers, SPI, UART, I2C, USB, and LCD drivers

MSP430 CapTIvate microcontrollers make it easy to add low-power capacitive touch buttons, sliders, and wheels to your MCU applications. Reliable touch detection through plastic, glass, and metal overlays in noisy and humid environments, MSP430 MCU system -on-chip for high-precision water, heat, and gas flow measurement. Features an integrated ultrasonic detection front end and DSP functionality with a low-power accelerator.

For water, gas and heat meters using traditional mechanical technology, flow is determined by a rotor whose rotation speed is proportional to the flow rate. The Extended Scan Interface (ESI) is an analog front end (AFE) integrated in the MSP430FR6989 MCU family that automatically measures the linear or rotary motion of a sensor with the lowest possible power consumption.

USB integration

The USB module is a full-speed USB integrated device peripheral and is compatible with the USB 2.0 protocol. It has an integrated LDO, PHY, and flexible PLL to reduce system complexity. Development is easy with tools such as the USB Developer's Package and the MSP430F5529 LaunchPad. TI also offers a USB Vendor ID Sharing Program to help facilitate the development process.
