To meet the growing demand for non-isolated Power over Ethernet (PoE) power solutions, Maxim has developed innovative non-isolated PoE powered device (PD) power solutions. These non-isolated PoE power solutions convert high-voltage PoE power into high-efficiency 5V and 12V outputs respectively. Each design is tested for load and line regulation, as well as efficiency and transient performance. All Maxim reference designs include BOMs, schematics, layout files, and Gerber files, which can be downloaded from the Design Resources tab. Additionally, circuit boards are available for purchase. These boards feature a modular construction with via-hole pins for direct board mounting, accelerating prototyping development. MAXREFDES108# integrates a PD controller and buck converter on a 14.0mm (0.55in) x 55.9mm (2.2in) circuit board. The module supports an input voltage range of 36V to 57V, provides an output voltage of 12V, and has a current capacity of 1A.
To facilitate initial evaluation, Maxim also offers the MAXREFDES98EV# evaluation board. The evaluation board has an RJ45 connector through which power can be supplied for quick testing.
