Using iPad to control home appliances is not a new concept. Interior decoration companies in Colorado, USA, truly integrate iPad into home design to increase the fashion atmosphere of the interior.
They apply iPad to indoor appliance control systems, from electric lights, electric curtains, entertainment systems (music, TV, etc.), to baby monitors and closed-circuit cameras, just click on the iPad to control them one by one. When iPad control is not needed, you can also move the iPad for other purposes.
Two iPads can complete the control of the appliances of the entire house, and the minimum cost of the iPad control system (including iPad) is about US$5,000. If it is equipped with some audio, video, security equipment, etc., the price will be more than US$6,000.
Travis Deatherage, a designer at interior technology company Solstice Multimedia, said: "The iPad has allowed us to greatly reduce the price of interior technology decoration. Before the launch of the iPad, an 8-inch touch screen in a gun would cost more than $3,000. Now, we only need to spend $500 to buy an iPad to achieve the same effect as a touch screen in a gun."
It is indeed a good idea for designers to integrate iPads into interior decoration, but the disadvantage is that if the iPad becomes outdated, you need to find a specialized technician to install it on site if you want to upgrade it.
