Through its diversified production strategy, Apple aims to reduce the risks of over-reliance on any single country, especially amid changing geopolitical situations and supply chain uncertainties.
Earlier this year, the Indian government announced that it would reduce the import tax on components needed for mobile phone production from 15% to 10% to encourage more companies to set up factories in India.
There were previous rumors that the yield rate of iPhones manufactured in India was only 50%, but this actually refers to the yield rate of mobile phone casings in factories under the Indian Tata Group, rather than the yield rate of the entire machine. Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei has clarified this.
