According to news on June 19, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo just issued an article stating that Apple will actively upgrade hardware product specifications to build a more competitive Vision Pro ecosystem.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that one of the keys to Vision Pro's success lies in its ecology, including its ability to be integrated with other Apple hardware products, and the main hardware specifications related to this are Wi-Fi and UWB. The UWB specification used by iPhone 15 will be upgraded, and the production process will be upgraded from 16nm to the more advanced 7nm, which will help improve the performance of close interaction or reduce power consumption. The iPhone 16 may be upgraded to Wi-Fi 7, which will help Apple integrate hardware products under the same regional network and provide a better ecological experience.

Ming-Chi Kuo also said that Changdian Technology's 2H23 gross margin/profit will benefit from the iPhone 15 UWB process upgrade, and in the long term, it will benefit from Chiplet becoming the mainstream design solution for AI accelerators. The iPhone 15 UWB process will be upgraded from 16nm to the more advanced 7nm. Changdian Technology is the back-end SiP supplier and this upgrade will help increase profits. Generally speaking, if 16nm is upgraded to the more advanced 7nm, the profit margin of the back-end process is expected to increase by more than 10-20%.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that AMD’s recently released AI accelerator MI300 series adopts Chiplet design, and his investigation indicates that Nvidia H100 next-generation AI accelerator will also adopt Chiplet design. Changdian Technology is a leading manufacturer of chiplet solutions and has long-term benefited from chiplets becoming the mainstream design solution for AI accelerators.

Apple's first mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, will be sold on Apple's official website and Apple Store retail stores in the United States early next year, and will be available in more countries and regions later, with a starting price of US$3,499 (note: currently about 24,948 yuan) ).
