On May 10, Apple will launch the iPhone 15 series this fall. The biggest change is that the port will be changed from Lightning to USB Type-C. The latest news is that Apple has introduced a USB 4 retimer chip for it, which will achieve faster transmission speed and more stability.

It is reported that Apple has invited Parade Technologies to assist in the development of USB 4 and plans to introduce timer (retimer) chips, which is expected to become a major selling point of the iPhone 15 series.

USB 4 has data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps, nearly twice the speed of USB 3.0. This lets you transfer large files, such as 4K movies and graphics, in seconds. It’s also the ideal technology for connecting multiple monitors and external video displays.

Retimer is similar to a PHY chip. When the signal passes through the Retimer, the internal clock is used to reconstruct the signal, thereby increasing the signal transmission energy, and then the signal continues to be transmitted.

Retimer is an IC with internal CDR (data clock recovery). It recovers the data and then sends the signal out again through the serial channel to reduce signal jitter.

Parade Technologies has currently entered the supply chain of Apple's iPad and MacBook. If it wins new orders from Apple and becomes a new member of the iPhone 15 series USB Type-C, it will undoubtedly greatly boost the company's performance.

iPhone 12 Pro review: A ticket to the Pro
When I first used the iPhone 12 Pro, my first impression was a complex mixture of the feel of previous iPhone generations. On the one hand, the flat body makes the iPhone 12 Pro feel like an iPhone 5 when held in the hand, but the simpler detail design and larger size quickly dispel this illusion; on the other hand,
