According to Jiwei.com, Lincoln Clark, a partner of the well-known institution KPMG, recently analyzed that the supply risks of raw materials such as neon caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, although relatively controllable in the short term, have great uncertainty in the long-term impact, and semiconductor companies should make contingency plans.
Clark suggested that in the short term, relevant companies can avoid risks by looking for alternative sources of supply or locking in prices with forward contracts. If the impact of the conflict on the supply of raw materials is long-term or even permanent, more investment should be made in technologies such as the preparation, purification, recycling and reuse of neon gas.
