After Apple released the AirTag smart tracker, many privacy advocates worried that it would be used improperly. In the company's rational vision, AirTag can help people better locate easily lost objects through the search network built by the huge user base of iOS devices. However, it turns out that carrying AirTags with you not only violates privacy, but also puts too much burden on the battery life of iOS devices such as iPhone/iPad.
Although not everyone has encountered the same problem, several reports on Apple's official forums have pointed out bugs in the AirTag function.
For example, a netizen left a message saying that he noticed that AirTag not only caused abnormally rapid power consumption on the iPad tablet, but also the iPhone smartphone had the same problem.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and a 2011 iPad Pro 11 running the latest version of the iOS mobile operating system, and oddly enough, their battery life has not been as good as expected.
The iPad typically uses 38% of its battery in 24 hours due to background activity, while the iPhone uses nearly 12%. I don't know why Apple keeps trying to ping the AirTags, aren't they supposed to work 'on demand'?
My temporary solution is to disable Bluetooth when not needed, which seems to work, but it's still a pain in the ass.
I wonder if anyone else has bought this? Hopefully Apple can get better at this, or if you have any other ideas or solutions?
Of course, this is not the first time we have encountered people complaining about AirTags consuming too much power. What we can't figure out is that after a few months, can updating iOS devices to the latest system version completely resolve this embarrassment?
