According to the latest statement from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, only the iPhone 14 Pro series models will be equipped with the A16 chip, while the standard iPhone 14 series models will retain the iPhone 13's A15 Bionic chip.
In a tweet, Kuo said the 6.1-inch "iPhone 14 Pro" and 6.7-inch "iPhone 14 Pro Max" will feature an A16 chip, while the 6.1-inch "iPhone 14" and 6.7-inch "iPhone 14 Max" will retain the same A15 chip found in the iPhone 13 lineup.
The two more affordable models retain the same chips from the previous year, which could be a major new point of differentiation between the standard and Pro models.
Kuo added that all four iPhone 14 models could come with 6GB of RAM, with the standard iPhone 14 models equipped with LPDDR4X RAM and the iPhone 14 Pro models equipped with LPDDR5 RAM. Currently, the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 come with 4GB of RAM, while the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max come with 6GB of RAM.
