Sanan Optoelectronics passed Apple's MiniLED supplier certification and is expected to join the supply ranks in Q2

On March 3, Cailianshe quoted a supply chain source as saying that with the surge in demand for MiniLED, Apple is actively adding new suppliers to consolidate its mass production scale. Sanan Optoelectronics, a leading domestic LED manufacturer, recently passed Apple certification and is expected to join the supply chain as early as the second quarter.

The industry pointed out that although Fucai became the first wave of Mini LED suppliers for Apple, Sanan Optoelectronics' goal of actively seizing Apple's Mini LED backlight supply chain has not changed, and the progress originally expected to pass the certification by the end of 2021 has been forced to be delayed.

At Apple's fall conference in 2021, the MacBook Pro laptop equipped with a Mini LED panel was launched for the first time. It is also the second product line to introduce Mini LED panels in 2021 after the iPad Pro. Fucai is the main supplier of Mini LED chips.

Fucai said that the current progress of major customers' orders is in line with previous expectations. In response to customer demand, Fucai plans to expand Mini LED production capacity by 20% from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of this year. In 2022, by transferring LED production capacity from mainland China, the annual target expansion will reach 50%.

Sanan Optoelectronics' Mini LED chips are currently being mass-produced for Samsung, making it Samsung's primary supplier and signing a supply agreement.

Sanan Optoelectronics said that in addition to the TV market, the company's Mini/Micro LED is also widely used in display fields such as tablets, laptops and car screens, and the shipment volume is increasing month by month. In addition, the production capacity of Sanan Optoelectronics' fundraising project Quanzhou Sanan Semiconductor is gradually being released, and part of the production capacity of Hubei Sanan Mini/Micro display chip industrialization project has also been put into operation. With the gradual release of production capacity and the gradual increase in the proportion of high-end products, Sanan Optoelectronics' revenue scale and profitability will continue to improve.

Sanan Optoelectronics also stated that it will give full play to its advantages as a global Mini LED chip supplier with scale advantages, and accelerate the cooperation and promotion of Mini LED with top international terminal application giants.
